The magic of presence in absence

What remains when everything is gone? Indeed, the emptiness of space is, for me, the crucial hint at the fundamental principles of life, because everything that happens and everything that materializes comes from emptiness and returns to emptiness. Every atom vibrates in empty space, and between every thought, the emptiness reveals itself for a brief moment.

Therefore, emptiness is more fascinating to me than mass, which I tend to dissolve. I approach form in a way that is quite different from the traditional methods of sculpture.

Bronze Gallery

Georg Scheele "East West"The Philosophy Behind My Work My sculptures are an expression of the philosophical question: "Who am I?" They reflect the joy of discovery and the process of self-exploration. Each piece captures the essence of my inner journey, transforming spontaneous impulses into conscious movements that freeze a moment in time. My goal is to create forms that bring the viewer from stillness into stillness, bridging the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions.

Unusual Forms Marble Sculptures

Usual working day on unusual shapes

Georg Scheele’s usual working day is anything but ordinary, as he shapes raw stone into fluid, almost otherworldly forms. Each day in his studio begins with intense focus, surrounded by massive blocks of marble and limestone, which he examines carefully, envisioning the unusual shapes that will soon emerge.

Creative Process

Scheele’s creative process is meticulous and physically demanding, balancing force and precision to bring out the unique curves and contours hidden within the stone. His hands-on approach requires both patience and adaptability, as each piece takes on a life of its own, challenging him to discover its hidden essence. The day unfolds as a rhythmic interplay between material and artist, transforming rigid stone into works that appear to flow, twist, or even defy gravity. Through every cut and polish, Scheele brings his vision to life, redefining the boundaries of stone sculpture.
